EDITORIAL ILLUSTRATION – 2019
This conceptual illustration was created for the symposium of the Dutch hospital ETZ
The theme of the symposium is: I spy with my little eye (ik zie, ik zie, wat jij niet ziet?) and it’s all about what seeing things from a different perspective can do. For me this subject was very interesting and certainly got me excited right away!
There will be a very interesting speaker coming, the illusionist Victor Mids

In addition to the blogpost, I would like to explain the thoughts behind this illustration. First, I started to showcase humans different perspectives. Which made me think, a human should be the centre of this illustration. If you look at the illustration, you will see two different light sources. Which resemble the different perspectives. In one perspective we only look at the inside of a person, what happens scientifically? We only see it in white. The other light only shines on the outside of the person. We only see black. Both of the perspectives meet in the middle: that’s where we should look closely and meet each other in the middle. That’s where the colour will be. When you look closely you will be able to see a little ‘illusion’ within.
